How custom printed boxes are made

The process for making custom printed boxes usually has eight steps:
Creation of the box design template: the box design template or matrix line is a diagram that shows all the cutting lines, scoring lines and drill lines that will be formed in the box. It is a flattened form of the box or package. Base on the Box Style and Box Dimension have been chosen, the template will be created by the special packaging software and will be used as a guild line for the designer to demonstrate the visual design, unfolding of a box. The template can be saved as Ai Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design or PDF file format.

Design of graphic illustrations: at this point in the process, the graphic designers will take the Template of design of boxes taking into account the type of cardboard that will be used, the shape that the box will have and what art will illustrate the box to start making the graphic design.
Simulated sample: before manufacturing, the manufacturer of custom printed boxes will often create a three-dimensional color model of the box for customers to evaluate the design and make any final correction if necessary.

Prepress and design: this step is to prepare for the printing process. Custom boxes are printed on flat sheets and then assembled into boxes. To obtain maximum manufacturing efficiency, prepress operators must design the sheets in such a way that they produce the least amount of cardboard waste per sheet when they are produced. The Prepress operator will also check two fonts, illustrations, graphics in the design of the box, also perform other tasks, such as creating color separations and prepare printing plates, each printing plate will make each color of ink, which are usually CMYK (Cyan - Magenta - Yellow - Black).

Printing: now is the time when the pictures are printed. Custom printed boxes are common in lithographic offset printing presses. The graphic images will be printed directly on the cardboard paper substrate. Additional improvement process: some additional process can be added at this point to improve customized printed boxes, such as hot stamping, embossing and windows. The aluminum print applies a bright and shiny sheet to the cardboard box, which makes it easier to capture the eyes of consumers. The relief creates an image in relief on the surface of the box, the window consists of placing a transparent plastic strip on a cutout in the box, which allows consumers to see that the products are inside without opening the boxes.

Die-cutting: The die will be used to cut the sheets of printed material in its shape, size of the design of the boxes. Once this is done, excess material will be removed from the leaves.

Finishing: now custom printed boxes are in the final process. The paintings are ready to be armed. The box will be folded, pasted and sent to the customer in order for the product to be fulfilled.
